They provide a welcoming smile to all who enter the doors of St. Mark. They offer hospitality to all with a loving and caring spirit. They also serve as tour guides for numerous events. Ambassadors host two workshops during the year. Training is provided. Shey Anderson and Irving Henderson are the coordinators.

Baptism Ministry is a help ministry set up to attend to the needs and assist the candidates for baptism on the 1st Sunday.  The goal of the ministry is to make the process a smooth transition for the candidates.  There are no scheduled meetings for the Baptism Ministry. Felicia Alexander and Johnny Smith are the coordinators.

Communion Ministry is responsible for communion preparation on the 1st Sunday prior to the worship services. Deacon Lloyd Dawson is the coordinator for the ministry.

The Church Counselors provide a stable and Word-centered environment for new and potentially new members.  They share vital information concerning Christianity and membership at St. Mark.  The counselors acquaint members with the total program, perspective, and purpose of St. Mark.  Training is provided for the church counselors. There are no regularly scheduled meetings.  Minister Timiko Covington is the coordinator.

deafmin_2010The Deaf Ministry is designed for the deaf and hearing impaired community, as well as people who desire to minister to the deaf, or desire to learn sign language.  The ministry provides interpreters for the worship services and other events.

The Membership Committee provides support to the Church Counselors by taking pictures of all new members and assigning contribution numbers when a new member joins St. Mark.  Training is provided.  There are no regularly scheduled meetings.  Rita Qualls is the coordinator.

The Seniors’ Ministry (Golden Saints)  functions on the principle that Christian values, service and spiritual needs do not stop with age.  Senior adults are a vital part of our St. Mark.  It is the goal of this ministry to continue to enhance the learning of God’s Word and the active use of God’s Word in the lives of our senior members.  Volunteers are always welcome to assist with event planning and implementation.  Laverne Moore is the coordinator.

ushers_2010  The Ushers' Ministry mission is to provide a warm welcome to all who come to worship at St. Mark Baptist Church by performing the duties of this Ministry throughout the worship service in a patient, and helpful manner, which contributes to and enhances our worship celebration as we "Reach People Where They Are".  The ministry consists of the Senior Ushers and the Junior Ushers. The Senior Ushers are lead by Donald Booth, and the Juniors by Myrtle Harris. Meeting times are as follow:

Senior Ushers-1st Monday night of each month at 7p.m.

Junior Ushers-Saturday before the 3rd Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

Women's Ministry serves as a support to build Godly women.  It is the goal of the ministry to encourage, empower, and equip women to love God with all of the hearts, their minds, their souls and their bodies.  We strive to create experiences through women's conferences, bible studies, workshops, community service projects and an annual trip.  Minister Deborah Woods is the coordinator.  Meetings are 2nd Tuesdays.  Meetings are alternated with outside events throughout the year.
