Class Descriptions and Instructors:
REACHING
- Learning to Share – Some people don’t like sharing anything in life! But as Christians, we are obligated to share Jesus Christ. So how do you overcome your fear and their objections to tell the gospel story? This class will give you some ideas on how to share Christ with people you meet every day (friends, family and co-workers) and win souls for the kingdom. (Min. Tommy Cash – Memphis, TN)
- Building Bridges that Connect – Just like bridges connect cities and states, relationships connect people. Maintaining relationships is as important as maintaining bridges. They connect us to people we need, as well as connecting us to people who need us. Learn how to ‘build’ relationships that are sturdy and stable. (Pastor Mark Porter – Dallas, TX)
- Understanding the Beliefs of Others – It is difficult to connect with other people when you don’t understand where they are coming from. All of us do not have the same religious beliefs and that is not a bad thing. This class will open your eyes to the beliefs of Jehovah Witness, Mormons, and Muslims. You will learn how to respect their beliefs, defend yours and show the love of Christ. (Min. Tommy Cash – Memphis, TN)
TEACHING
- Making the Bible Relevant for Today – Have you ever said, “What I’m going through today isn’t in the Bible”? Well so have your students, but Solomon says, “There’s nothing new under the sun.” This class will help you take Biblical truths and teach them in a way that apply to our everyday walk. Your students will begin to walk in victory and your class will grow. (Pastor Mark Porter – Dallas, TX)
- Teaching Outside the Box – Creative teaching catches the eye, mind and heart of your students. During this age of Hi-definition and 3-D technology, traditional teaching methods are boring and ineffective. Learn how to step out the “box” of traditional teaching and show your students how fresh and exciting the Word of God can be. (Pastor A. Neal Scoggins – Little Rock, AR)
- Teaching to Transform Lives – The purpose of teaching is to inspire change and not just give information. Both children and adults want to see something new in their lives. As a teacher, aspire to give them something to hold on to and move them forward, transforming them into what God desires them to be. (Min. Tim Fuller – Euless, TX)
LEADING
- Avoiding Burnout – Even the “Energizer Bunny” burns out, that’s why he advertises batteries. Is your battery running down? Does it take more effort than normal to do ministry? Learn how to recognize the signs of ministry burnout and what to do about it. You have more energy than you think so learn how to tap into your reserve tank and feel refreshed. (Min. Herbert Brooks – Little Rock, AR)
- Dealing with Conflict – Conflicts do occur among Christians… in the Church. How you handle them is what makes all the difference. There are godly and ungodly ways to handle conflict. This class will give you some tips on how to handle ungodly conflict in a godly way. (Pastor Sean Taylor – Euless, TX)
- Motivating Others – After begging, pleading and praying you realize that motivating others to do ministry isn’t always easy. The good news is you can learn how to motivate others. This class gives you tips to getting people off the pews and into the ministry game. (Pastor Sean Taylor – Euless, TX)
